Hydrate with pure water; tap, filtered tap, or bottled.

Drinking throughout the day is easy, once you make a habit of it. You can get a start on it by having water at your bedside to drink when you wake up and drinking another glassful when you brush your teeth in the morning. Drinking before meals won't upset digestion. Refrain from drinking much during meals, then wait for an hour or two after meals to drink again.

There are many sources for how much water to drink in a day. Go online, if you want to know for your specific age, weight, athletic condition.

Experts will agree that the absolute minimum  is:

Men, any age, weight or activity level:         2 quarts a day; about nine 8-ounce glasses.

Women, any age, weight or activity level:   1.5 quarts a day; about seven 8-ounce glasses.

Add at least an extra two or three 8-ounce glasses if you're over weight or work out moderately.

If you drink caffeine or alcohol or eat salty foods, you will need more water to compensate for their diuretic effects.
